About Us
We are Taylor and Lauren Robinette, and this project is dedicated to the memory of our beloved Boxer dog, Hudson, who passed away in February 2024.
Hudson Eno Robinette was born on April 8th, 2014, in Haw River, North Carolina. Lauren and I were still in college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill when Hudson entered our lives. As sophomores, Lauren joked about getting a dog—having always wanted one growing up. As soon as she mentioned the idea, my heart was set on finding a puppy. I grew up with Boxers, so knew that would be the perfect puppy for us. We found a listing for an "accidental" litter of boxers only an hour away from campus. I convinced Lauren to go look at the puppies, although we both thought this would only be a fun visit, not a life changing one.
That spontaneous decision turned out to be one of the best we’ve ever made. From the day we brought Hudson home, he transformed us from a young in love college couple into a family. He made us better every day and loved us unconditionally. Hudson's life was filled with countless adventures, even from our very first day together. The day we picked him up, we took him on a 6-hour road trip to Maryland to visit my family, and from that day on, he never stopped exploring.
Hudson traveled all over the country, from East to West, visiting places like North Carolina, New York City, the Chesapeake Bay, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Seattle, Savannah, Portland, and so many more. Hudson traveled by car down the Pacific Coast Highway, by boat through the San Francisco Bay, by train through Mendocino, and by plane across the entire US, even going up to the cockpit to be with the pilots!
We are thrilled to write this book to document all the many adventures Hudson experienced. We’ve partnered with an amazing illustrator to bring his story to life. Our hope is that Hudson's infectious personality and wonderful life will continue to inspire and bring joy to all who read his book.
Hudson taught us so much about taking chances, exploring the world, and building memories with the people you love. Hudson always wanted to meet everyone he encountered and would want nothing more than to have his story bring a smile to your face.
Thank you for joining us on this final adventure. We appreciate you all and hope that Hudson's story brings you as much joy as he brought to our lives.
